Auction of Vida's Assets for RM1 Million

He mentioned that all 727 seized items had to be purchased as a single lot with a minimum price of RM1 million.
The first bidder’s offer was below the set price and was rejected, leaving the second bidder, a businessman identified as Norzamri Abdullah, to win the auction at 1:40 pm. Among the items sold were multiple sofa sets, dining tables, bedroom sets, and various electronics such as televisions, computers, a PlayStation, and an arcade machine. Additionally, a BMW X7, a Toyota Vellfire, and a Toyota Grand Hi-Ace were also part of the sale.
When asked about the remaining RM100,000 debt, Samir stated that his client would still pursue the balance. He mentioned that he would seek instructions from his client, but it was informed that the claim for that balance would still proceed. The next steps, whether through further legal action or negotiation, would be determined after their discussion.
This auction marks the culmination of a lengthy legal process. The items were first seized during a five-hour operation at Vida’s bungalow in November last year. An initial auction scheduled for December 2024 was postponed after the High Court in Kuala Lumpur granted Vida a stay, following her claim that some of the seized items were borrowed goods.
Reporters were not permitted to enter the residence during the auction proceedings today. Mohamad Taufik Kamalbari, a subcontractor from AH Design Communication present at the scene, briefly stated that he was satisfied with the professional and smooth execution of the auction by court officers.
