A New Chapter in Love and Luxury
Sarah Newman, a former businesswoman from Dragons' Den, has officially taken her vows in a grand wedding ceremony with Lord Henry Digby, the Baron of Offaly. The couple exchanged their promises in November 2024 during an opulent event that marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
The wedding took place at St Andrew's Church, located near Lord Digby's expansive estate in Dorset, England. The couple has been living together for several years now, making this union a natural progression in their relationship.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds celebrated their special day at Minterne House, a stunning property set on 1,600 acres of land. This historic home was once inhabited by former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and is also known as a popular venue for weddings.
Sarah chose to wear an unconventional wedding gown for her big day. Instead of a traditional white dress, she opted for a beautiful petal pink midi dress designed by British designer Suzannah London. The elegant long-sleeve silk gown, which cost €3,475, was paired with a pair of pointed silver kitten heels. Her new husband, Lord Digby, complemented her look with a three-piece suit featuring a bedazzled waistcoat that matched the gold sparkles on Sarah's dress.
The couple spared no expense in making their wedding day unforgettable. They even hired bagpipers to perform for their wedding party, adding a touch of traditional Scottish flair to the celebration. The evening concluded with a dazzling display of fireworks lighting up the night sky over their countryside home.
For Sarah, this wedding marks a significant turning point after experiencing some challenging times in both her personal and financial life. Despite facing public hardships, she has found happiness with Lord Digby.
Sarah achieved considerable success when she sold her online hotel booking platform, needahotel.com, in 2006 for a reported €50 million. However, her journey in love has not always been smooth. She entered into a romantic relationship with DJ Carey, a Kilkenny hurling legend, following her divorce. Their nine-year relationship ended in a highly publicized breakup.
In the past, Sarah has spoken openly about the deep depression she experienced after her bankruptcy in 2016 and the end of her relationship with DJ Carey. Despite these challenges, she has never regretted how she spent her money. At one point, she owned a seven-bedroom home on Shrewsbury Road and built Chalet Grace, named after her daughter, in the Swiss Alps.
“I used to bring everybody on holidays, but looking back, those were great fun. I gave a lot to charity. I always supported numerous charities,” she shared.
