The Final Auction of Hasmiza Othman's Assets
PETALING JAYA: A long-awaited auction of assets belonging to Hasmiza Othman, widely known as Vida, came to a close in Ipoh, Perak. The event, which saw the successful bidder paying RM1 million for three luxury vehicles and over 700 personal items, marked the end of a prolonged legal process involving the cosmetics mogul.
The auction took place at 10:30 am today at Hasmiza’s residence in Meru Heights, with two bidders participating. After the other bidder withdrew from the auction, licensed auctioneer S Punithawathi announced businessman Norzamri Abdullah as the winner at 1:40 pm.
Luxury Vehicles and Personal Items
The auction featured several high-value items, including a Toyota Vellfire, a Toyota Grand Hiace, and a BMW X7. These vehicles were among the most sought-after items during the sale. In addition to the vehicles, more than 700 personal items were put up for sale. These included:

Legal Background and Outstanding Debts
In November last year, it was reported that every item in a house belonging to Hasmiza had been seized by the Kuala Lumpur High Court due to her failure to pay more than RM1.06 million to a contractor who renovated one of her factories. On October 29, 2023, the High Court ordered Hasmiza to pay the amount owed to Ah Design Communication Sdn Bhd from 2018 for renovations carried out at a Shah Alam factory to turn it into a studio.
Samir Zainal, who represented the claimant, confirmed that one bidder had withdrawn after failing to meet the court’s minimum bid requirement of RM1 million. He also mentioned that the successful bidder must complete payment to the court by 4:30 pm today.
“I was informed that the items purchased will not be removed today – only the payment will be made to the court,” he said.
Ongoing Legal Proceedings
Samir added that the remaining RM100,000 owed by Hasmiza would be determined later following further instructions and discussions with his client. “There’s still an outstanding amount, including interest, of around RM100,000, and I’m waiting for further instructions from my client. I understand that additional claims will be made, meaning the process is not over yet,” he said.
The auction was initially scheduled for December 9, 2024, before it was postponed to January 2025 and delayed again until today. This series of postponements highlighted the complexity of the legal proceedings surrounding Hasmiza’s financial obligations.
