Malaysia has solidified its position as a crucial player in the global and ASEAN automotive supply chain, thanks to the remarkable success of the MIAPEX 2025 and AICOVE 2025 exhibitions held in Selangor last week. These two events, which took place from October 24 to 26, attracted an impressive number of international exhibitors and buyers from across six continents, showcasing Malaysia's growing strength in automotive exports.
This year’s expos featured more than 350 exhibitors from various countries, including Malaysia, Japan, China, India, Taiwan, Singapore, and Germany. The event highlighted the country's ability to attract a diverse range of participants, reinforcing its role as a key hub for automotive innovation and trade.
Now in its fifth edition, MIAPEX 2025 (Malaysia International Automotive & Parts Expo) presented the latest advancements in automotive components, accessories, and workshop tools. It was held alongside AICOVE 2025 (Asean International Commercial Vehicle & E-Mobility Expo), which focused on heavy vehicle parts and the fast-growing e-mobility sector. This dual-event format allowed for a comprehensive showcase of the automotive industry, covering both passenger and commercial vehicles.
The international participation was particularly notable, with buyers from the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas attending the events. This demonstrated Malaysia’s expanding influence in global trade and its ability to connect with key markets. The presence of these international buyers also underscored the confidence that global stakeholders have in Malaysia’s automotive sector.
The expos received official support from the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB). This backing highlights the government’s commitment to promoting the automotive industry and supporting its export ambitions.
Jet Ong, the chairperson of the event organizers, expressed pride in the success of MIAPEX and AICOVE 2025. In a statement, Ong said:
“The success of MIAPEX and AICOVE 2025 reflects the unity and strength of Malaysia’s automotive industry. We are proud to have created a platform where ideas, trade, and innovation come together — driving our local champions toward global recognition.”
Ong emphasized that future editions of the events will focus on further strengthening Malaysia’s position as the leading automotive trade and innovation hub in ASEAN. This vision aligns with the broader goal of positioning Malaysia as a competitive player in the global automotive market.
Some key points about the MIAPEX and AICOVE 2025 events include:
- Global Participation: Over 350 exhibitors from six continents showcased their products, highlighting Malaysia’s appeal as a trade destination.
- Focus on Innovation: Both events emphasized the latest developments in automotive technology, including e-mobility and advanced manufacturing solutions.
